Last night for Father's Day, my family went to our first Braves game of this season. The game was kinda dull with barely any hits or scores, but the Braves did win 1-0!! GO BRAVES!

Last night I went to Alive After Five with my mom, dad, and roommate Rachel. We ate dinner and dessert at Le Bistro then walked through the streets. It was a great night! Can't wait for the one in July :) So one of my friends and I decided to make a summer bucket list and see who can complete the most things. Yesterday Rachel and I went to the Roswell Mill. I've been to the Mill numerous times but I've never been swimming there... That's next on the list. Who wants to come with me? The Mill is a nice place to take a walk, sit in the sun, and splash around in the water. Some of you may or may not know that recently I flew not only across the states but across the Pacific Ocean, Russia, and landed into Hong Kong. To this day, this was the longest flight I had been on (only 14 hours...). By going to China I made progress on three of my bucket list items: #2 Visit all the continents #5 Visit all 50 States #21 Visit the 7 Wonders of the World. Our journey started bright and early Saturday May 9th, 2015. My mom and I flew from Atlanta,Georgia to Seattle, Washington. Since this was my first time going to Washington I crossed another state off my 50 states to go to. While in Seattle, we visited my cousin who goes to school there. It was such a beautiful day in Seattle; it was sunny and 79 degrees! Since the day was so nice I got to experience a lot. The first day we saw Pikes Market Place, ate at Wild Ginger, went to the Space Neddle, Snoqualmie Falls, and we finished the day having a glass of wine and cookies while watching the sunset on the beach of the Puget Sound. The next day we only had a few hours before we had to leave for our flight. It was also mothers day... so my mom and I boarded a 6AM ferry to Bainbridge Island, which is exciting for all of us Grey's Anatomy fans. There we walked around and I bought my mother breakfast. Then we had to head back to the hotel and leave for our flight. 14 hours later.... (with a 12 hour time change) We finally arrived into Hong Kong late at night. Since we spent several days, I just say the things I enjoyed the most. First of all I have to say it was great to see my second mom, Lisa. She had moved to Hong Kong about a year or more ago and it had been a long time since I've seen her. Thanks Kurt and Lisa for the amazing meals, tour of Hong Kong, and the stunning view from your apartment! Tuesday May 12th: 1 First glance and tour of Hong Kong 2 The Peak 3 Time Square (of Hong Kong) 4 The Escalator My favorite part about tuesday was that I got to see what Hong Kong was really like. I never really did research about Hong Kong and I didn't realize how big and amazing it was. The view from the top of the Peak was absolutely stunning. The sea port with the tall skyscrapers on the back was breathtaking. My words aren't enough to even explain it... so I'll have to show you. Wednesday May 13th: 1 Kowloon- Avenue of the Stars 2 Star Ferry 3 The Peninsula 4 Ladies Market 5 Flower Market 6 Gold Fish Market 7 Dim Sum 8 The One-Wooloomoooloo (with the light show) If you thought the view from the top of the Peak was spectacular, then you have to see this view! We went to the 31st floor to a restaurant called Wooloomooloo(I have not idea why it's called this). Then Kurt, Lisa, my mom, and I went to have drink on the edge of the balcony...Good thing I'm not afraid of heights! Watching the sun set on Hong Kong and the lights of the night turn on was, again, one of the most beautiful things I've seen. We enjoyed a few drinks and watched the light show on the skyscrapers of Hong Kong. This night was by far one of my favorites of all time. Thursday May 14th: 1 Foot massage 2 Big Buddha This day was more relaxing... which I needed. Traveling to a time zone thats 12 hours opposite is exhausting. The Big Buddha was really need to see because it is the largest Buddha in the world. Even though he was recently built, it was still amazing to see. Friday May 15th: 1 Stanley 2 WanChai 3 Fritz Pub Saturday May 16th: 1 Mui Wo 2 Peng Chau With all the chaos of Hong Kong, it was nice to see these sides of the city. Both Friday and Saturday were relaxing. We weren't in the hustle and bustle of the city and we could walk at our own pace around the beach and shops. Next we flew on Air China from Hong Kong to Beijing and finally got into bed at 2:30AM!! Sunday May 17th: 1 Tian'anmen Square 2 Forbidden City 3 Temple of Heaven 4 Summer Palace 5 Pearl Factory I can't say there wasn't a place I didn't like in Beijing. I enjoyed the Forbidden City the most because it was so large and we were allowed to walk throughout it. The history was very interesting too. My mom's favorite part was the Summer Palace. She loved it so much she wanted to go back another day, so that the smog and rain clouds weren't in the way. The one thing I could have lived without was all the Chinese taking pictures of me and with me. Since neither of us could communicate with each other, they would end up just grabbing me and pointing to a camera or phone. Who knows how many people have my photo now! It was like being a celebrity for doing absolutely nothing. Monday May 18th: 1 Jade Factory 2 The Great Wall 3 China Town (yes, China has a China Town haha) 4 Dr. Tea 5 Ming Tombs Hands down my favorite part of our last full day was the Great Wall of China. I never thought the day would come when I would be able to walk the Great Wall. It was a dream come true! I can now say that I have walked on one of the Seven Wonders of the New World. WOW! It was very surreal being there. Once my mom and I climbed to about 4 or 5 watch towers we were exhausted. At the top of a hill, we just stood and took the view in. There wasn't a sight were we couldn't see the wall. Absolutely the best part of the trip and of my life. I will always remember this trip and I'm so glad I have a wonderful mother who loves to travel and see amazing things like this with me! I can't wait to see what our next adventure is!
Found this blog post from when I went to Greece in 2013: Today is October 7, 2013. I arrived to Athens at 2:00am and fell fast asleep when my mom and I got to the hotel. I woke up in the morning and went to breakfast. I had the best Greek yogurt I have ever had! It was the best in all of Greece. I wish I could go back just for the yogurt. The view at the hotel’s restaurant was of the Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus. It was very breathtaking looking at these ancient buildings as the sun was rising. It was on my bucket list to see the Acropolis and when we came back to Athens on October 11, 2013 we went to see it up close. It was really tall and fantastic up close. It is amazing that the ancient Greeks made this by hand! After packing up and leaving the Royal Olympic Hotel, the group went to the biggest port in all of Athens. We took a hydrofoil to the island of Hydra. Hydra is a small island where no cars are allowed, well except garbage trucks. It was nice and peaceful to no always hear cars driving around. It is a great place to relax, which is exactly what we did for 3 days. The first day we got to the hotel and it used to be an old sponge factory. I slept on the loft. The next day my dad, aunt, and I climbed to the top of the island. On the way we got lost a couple of times, as the streets are not labeled and the maps are not very specific. As we were walking to the top, we saw many donkeys, horses, chickens, and goats. The view of Hydra is amazing. My aunt and I didn’t make it all the way to the top, as it took 2 hours to go up the top and 2 hours to go back down. We walked back down to the port of the island and we ate lunch at this small white restaurant. We ate the best gyros in all of Greece and they were only £2!. After lunch, which was at 3:00pm, we took a siesta for 2 hours. Then at 7 we walked around to the shops and had dinner. We were so exhausted that we went to bed early. On the last day in Hydra we went to a nearby town, which was only a 30 minute walk. The town was smaller than the town we were staying in. It had one restaurant and several houses. Even though it was small, it was quite charming. There was a little beach there and we stopped to feel the water. It was freezing! At lteast I can say that I went in the Ageean Sea! Then we went to lunch at a restaurant that the King of the Netherlands has eaten at! We had one of the best meals at this restuarant. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel to soak up some sun at the hotel pool. I even took a little nap. After my nap I got ready for dinner at the hotel. They had a special menu prepared for us.It was the best fish I have ever had! they even cut off the head in front of us!! Then, we went back to the place we had lunch at and had the best Panna Cotta I've ever had. The owner even gave us the recipe! Hydra was one of my favorite places in all of Greece! It is a great place to relax and have fun! |
